A well-designed system is literally the difference between having a lunch break or not. I think the point of systems should be helping us do less work, not more. It’s my dream to optimise a team to a four-day week!
I hate performative productivity. Sadly, the productivity industry has largely strayed from its origins and alienated lots of people in the process - I want to change that. It started out with making your life more efficient, but then slowly progressed into how to work yourself to the point where you don’t even consider real food (cough, Huel). My whole thing is helping people tap into their Big Notion Energy - creating authentic & intentional ways of working on your own terms.
A tool like Notion can make a huge difference achieving this, as you can completely customise how you work. The old way is work being spread out among multiple tools, spreadsheets and documents. With a custom workspace designed in Notion, all your most important information can connect together, hugely reducing manual work, saving time and lowering stress.
Although, “toxic productivity” also seeped into the Notion space where people build these supercharged systems that track absolutely every element of their life. In reality, we typically overestimate how much we can get done. So what ends up happening is that people abandon these “everything systems” because they’re overwhelming and too complex. This isn’t me assuming - about 50% of clients come to me because they want a more stripped back/intentionally designed experience.
